THICKET

THICKET

Pulsing drum improvisation explores intense presence through rhythm and energy.

When Thicket takes over Platform, expect flying drumsticks and symbiotic drumming where rhythm and energy merge into a single living, vibrating organism.

Behind THICKET are the brothers Dan Kjær Nielsen and Adam “CCsquele” Nielsen, presenting a special work at this year’s festival with an expanded setup. Using a shared drum kit, various percussion instruments, loop pedals, and a soundscape created from field recordings at Platform, the performance unfolds in real time through the musicians’ interactions and the audience’s presence.

Through improvisation, they explore the relationship between two musicians in close, rhythmic interplay, pushing the boundaries of body, perception, and sound in a constant negotiation of tempo, movement, and energy.

THICKET unites Dan Kjær Nielsen, drummer of Iceage, and Adam “CCsquele” Nielsen, founder of the record label Dybdestegte and member of bands such as Cuirass and Scimitar. Together, they explore the nature of shared DNA in swarm-like improvisation, extending antennas and tentacles in and out of this universe and beyond.

Their performance at Heartland Festival alongside artist Eliyah Mesayer was named performance of the year in 2025 by Information.
