FRIDAY 3 JULY

A musical feast of Anatolian folk, psychedelic vibes and electronic grooves

  • Friday 3 July

Kurdish and Anatolian traditions meet Nordic sounds, electronic layers and dreamy indie when AySay takes the stage. With their unique style, the trio has made a name for themselves as a breath of fresh air in Danish music, touring extensively abroad and thrilling audiences with their infectious sound.

They have also performed at Roskilde Festival before, most recently in 2024, where they captured the hearts of the audience with a concert that featured both chain dancing and moments of deep melancholy. With both danceable grooves and psychedelic layers, the two musicians Aske Døssing Bendixe and Carl West Hosbond manage to support Luna Ersahin's powerful vocals and hypnotic string playing from the traditional saz with great nuance.

Luna Ersahin, who has both Danish and Kurdish roots, is an excellent ambassador for a diverse and inclusive vision of what Danish music can be. But first and foremost, she is a born front woman who, with her charisma, presence and fantastic voice, creates a feeling of unity and warmth.

She is also a sought-after name who has collaborated with Danish artists such as Tobias Rahim, Smag På Dig Selv and Ana Juél, and recently she has created music for the gripping documentary Burning Voice, which focuses on women's rights. In AySay, however, she has a band that truly embraces her many facets and creates a fantastic atmosphere live. They have just released their brand new album Mal, and we look forward to experiencing the new powerful songs when the band returns to Roskilde Festival.
