“Who wanna rock with Jennie?” South Korean pop star Jennie sings confidently on her first solo album Ruby, released in 2025 to massive hype. And at this summer’s Roskilde Festival, there will be plenty of opportunity to party with Jennie when she takes to the Orange Stage for her first Danish concert as a solo artist, ready to deliver a pop show out of this world.

If you’ve followed even a little of the South Korean genre K-pop, which has grown into a global pop phenomenon, Jennie will be a familiar voice. Both as part of one of the genre’s most successful groups, Blackpink, and in her own right.

The razor-sharp productions and highly addictive hooks with which Blackpink have conquered the world carry over into Jennie’s solo album, which also presents her as a global pop star who transcends the K-pop format. It is, quite simply, world-class pop characterised by artistic collaborations with some of today’s leading artists, such as Dua Lipa, Kali Uchis and Childish Gambino. Above all, however, the sound is defined by Jennie herself, who emerges as a versatile and nuanced artist and a wide-ranging vocalist.

The album garnered praise from a wide range of media outlets, including NME, which wrote: “She asserts herself not just as a global star, but as a fully realised artist, shaping her sound and vision with an intentionality that signals real growth.” Jennie has also impressed in live performances, notably with a superb and acclaimed performance at last year’s Coachella Festival.

With a blend of lavish choreography, visuals and a powerful vocal performance, she brings her solid pop bangers to life on stage. And there is no doubt we’re in for a massive pop party when she takes to the Orange Stage this summer as the first K-pop artist ever.
