You do not need to bring half your basement to Roskilde.
Talk to your camp before you leave: What will you actually need? What can you share? What can just as well stay at home? The less unnecessary gear you bring, the less you have to keep track of, clean up after and carry home again.
And you may not need to buy new gear or bring everything from home. You can still rent a good two-person tent or a camping chair through us, so you do not have to cram more than necessary into your bag, car or train journey.
Leave glass at home
You can still bring your own drinks, food, alcohol and soft drinks to the campsite.
Just not in glass packaging.
Glass packaging is no longer allowed in the campsite, because broken glass on the ground creates a risk of injury and requires extensive clean-up.
Cans, plastic and cartons are still allowed.
If you arrive with glass anyway, please leave it in the containers at the entrances to the campsite.
Drop the cheap single-use pavilion
Cheap white self-assembly pavilions of poor quality are no longer allowed in the campsite either.
They often break, struggle with wind, rain and a full week of festival life, and too often end up as waste.
You can still cover up to 9 m2 in your camp, and sturdy folding or scissor pavilions are still allowed.
Sort from the first camp party
Once your camp is up and running, sort your waste just like you do at home.
At the campsite, waste is sorted into four types:

Use sorting bags in your camp and hand them in as they fill up. That way, it will not all pile up at once.
Need more bags? You can pick them up at all towers and sorting stations. You can find the locations on the map in the app by filtering for “recycling station”.
BinFluencers also hand out sorting bags at the campsite. You can recognise them by their green vests, and they can help if you are unsure how to sort your waste.
Items that do not fit in the bags must be taken to the sorting stations. This includes cardboard, hazardous waste and broken camping equipment.
To sum up
- Pack only the gear you actually need
- Agree who brings what
- Leave glass packaging at home
- Leave cheap single-use pavilions at home
- Rent a tent or camping chair through us if you want to avoid buying new gear or bringing it from home
- Make room for waste sorting in your camp from day one
It will make your camp easier to live in, easier to clean up and better for everyone around you.
