There is not much that can match a concert with the trio Smag På Dig Selv in terms of energy. With their seemingly simple line-up consisting of two saxophones and a drummer, they have repeatedly taken audiences by surprise, moving from sweaty underground clubs to sold-out shows at large venues, as well as triumphing at numerous festivals.
In 2024, it was the audience at Roskilde Festival who were blown away by the trio, who also received a Danish Music Award as Best New Live Act that same year. And it is indeed a live experience far beyond the ordinary that you get every time Smag På Dig Selv takes the stage with their furious musical assault of jazz, punk, hand-played techno and much more.
With minimalist instrumentation and uncompromising experimentation, Smag For Dig Selv never panders to the audience. But with their extroverted energy, superior musicality and rave-inspired rhythms, they still create an expression that goes straight to the body and creates spontaneous celebration in an atmosphere of controlled chaos.
Smag På Dig Selv released their acclaimed debut album SPDS in 2024. Since then, their reputation as one of the country's most intense live acts has grown steadily, and with their recently released second album This Is Why We Lost, the rave atmosphere has been turned up a notch with inspiration from EDM, hardcore techno and even gabber. Remember to stay hydrated, because it's going to be a sweaty affair when the trio returns to Roskilde Festival with their new material.
