Monday 30 June 2025 marks 25 years since nine men lost their lives during a concert at Roskilde Festival.
The tragedy changed the festival forever – not only in how we work with safety, but also in our fundamental understanding of responsibility, care and community.
That is why we will be showing the film Nine Rocks on Monday 30 June at 11:00 on the Gaia stage.
The film is created by Tor Nygård Kolding and Rikke Selin. Tor was present in the crowd and survived against all odds.
Nine Rocks is a deeply personal film of remembrance, reflecting on guilt, loss, and the search for meaning in the meaningless.
We are showing the film in respect for the nine men we lost 25 years ago – and as a reminder that we, as a festival community, share a responsibility for one another.
The film is introduced by the directors, and a representative from the Roskilde Festival gives a short speech in remembrance of the tragedy.
